Flat puglet came to visit us in Muncie Indiana home of Ball State University. The creator of Garfield the Cat also lives in the Muncie area.</p>
<p>FP was able to go with me to work for a few days at Ball State University where I teach athletic training. He attended a lecture on health insurance, and participated in a shoulder evaluation lab.<br />
<br style=”height:4em” /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><em>Flat Puglet, can you tell me where it hurts?</em></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP-in-athletic-training-lab.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-2758 aligncenter" title="athletic training lab" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP-in-athletic-training-lab.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="321" /></a></p>
<p>Flat Puglet also took a tour of the campus. He saw the David Letterman Communication Building and did his best Stupid (Flat) Pet Trick. He also met Garfield the cat and felt like an official genius when he tried on a Ball State graduation gown.<br />
<a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP-and-garfield-on-ball-state-campus.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-2759" title="garfield on ball state campus" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP-and-garfield-on-ball-state-campus.jpg" alt="" width="179" height="250" /></a>&nbsp;<br />
I talked about Flat Puglet and his mission in each of my classes. He did also hang with my two pugs Miley and Brutus.</p>
<p>We had a wonderful time with Flat Puglet. I am sending him on to a friend who also has a pug for him to play with.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">* * * * </p>
<p>Flat Puglet is heading west again &#8211; this time to a brand new state. Destination: <em>O-klahoma! </em><br />

<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP60_group.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-2722" title="group" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP60_group.jpg" alt="" width="250" height="179" /></a>&nbsp;<br />
Wilma and Brigitte welcomed me with open paws, but Sluggo seemed a little freaked out. He did agree to pose for a picture, but after that, he was pretty much done with me.</p>
<p>When I arrived in Beacon Falls, my hosts were very excited to show me around. I waited for the Dad to get home from work. When the Dad arrived I got whisked off to dinner at the most awesome restaurant.</p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_cornerpug.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-2726 alignright" title="corner pug" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_cornerpug.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="214" /></a></p>
<p>It was called The Corner Pug and it was named after the owners beloved one eyed pug Mac. Inside there were flat pugs all over the place. They had a gazillion pictures of pugs from all over. Patrons brought them in to display and for that, they got a free dessert!</p>
<p>People were very interested in who I was. When they found out about my mission, they bought me a beer!</p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP60_beer.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-2727" title="beer" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP60_beer.jpg" alt="" width="250" height="179" /></a>&nbsp;<br />
My next stop was to a Museum in New Haven, CT just a short ride from Beacon Falls. It was the Yale Peabody Museum and it was filled with bones. I thought this was great until I found out I couldn&#8217;t eat them. They were dinosaur bones and were millions of years old.<br />
There was one that was bigger than any bone I&#8217;ve ever seen.</p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_60-bones.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-2724 alignright" title="FP_60 bones" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_60-bones.jpg" alt="" width="275" height="207" /></a>&nbsp;<br />
I got to see a replica of the earth and the places I&#8217;ve been. It really put into perspective the work I have ahead of me. To travel this whole big blue marble to spread the word of recycled dogs, I am up for the challenge. This is important work.</p>
<p>At the museum, I also got to see a sarcophagus from ancient Egypt and a ginormous tick. They were having an exhibition the West Nile Virus. Initially I was very afraid of the tick, but then I realized it was enclosed in glass and couldn&#8217;t hurt me. So I jumped on top for a photo op. Lots of folks asked about me at the Peabody too, so I continued to spread the word.</p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_60_sarcopho.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-2725 alignleft" title="sarcophogus" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_60_sarcopho.jpg" alt="" width="214" height="300" /></a>&nbsp;<br />
On my last day in Beacon Falls, we went to Wilma, Brigitte and Sluggos&#8217; human cousins&#8217; school. I got to be the mystery reader. The human cousin was so excited to see me and his Auntie, and all the kids were very nice and polite. </p>
<p>We shared my mission about recycleds before we read a book called Pug Therapy. It&#8217;s about finding happiness one pug at a time.</p>
<p>The kids loved all the pictures of dressed up pugs. Before we left we handed out 8&#215;10 glossies of FP signed with a pawprint and the website so the kids could follow my adventures.<br />
&nbsp;<br />
&nbsp;<br />
My time here in Beacon Falls has come to an end, but I am staying in Connecticut. I&#8217;m heading to the place where Sluggo&#8217;s foster mom, foster bros Murphy and Duke live. My hosts call her the patron saint of pug rescue, so I think I&#8217;m in for a great time!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP60_mystery-reader.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-2728 aligncenter" title="mystery reader" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP60_mystery-reader.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="321" /></a></p>
<p>There are many more places my hosts would like to take me, but they know a lot folks are waiting to meet me. Wilma Brigitte and Sluggo said if I was ever in the area again, their door would be open. They also promised to help me in my mission and tell everyone they meet about recycled dogs.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">* * * *</P></p>
<p>Flat Puglet is off to Plantsville, CT. You can follow his travels as they happen by entering #60 in the Search box on the main page.</p>

<a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/fp-zo_pho.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-2670" title="FP, Zo and Pho" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/fp-zo_pho.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a>&nbsp;<br />
I&#8217;m here with Zoey &amp; Phoebe. They&#8217;re taking good care of me although Zoey likes to drag me around and use me as a seat cushion.</p>
<p>We spend a lot of time playing in their backyard, where they have a lot of tasty ROCKS! Then Zoey and Phoebe showed me a pug that ate so many rocks that he turned to stone (at least that&#8217;s what their human told them).</p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/fg-pg-statue.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-2671" title="pug statue" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/fg-pg-statue.jpg" alt="" width="250" height="188" /></a>&nbsp;<br />
I was really disappointed that I couldn&#8217;t go with Noodle&#8217;s Mom to the Monterey Bay Aquarium; so when Zoey and Phoebe&#8217;s human cousin, Isaiah needed an extra adult to accompany him to the Aquarium, it was my chance to go.</p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/fp-sign.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-2672" title="aquarium" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/fp-sign.jpg" alt="" width="188" height="250" /></a><br />
I never knew there were so many different kinds of fish! I met some really cool Dragon seahorses that look like plants, a pregnant daddy seahorse, some crazy penguins that invited me to see what it would be like to hatch from an egg.</p>
<p>I also learned about Seafood WATCH (<a href="http://www.seafoodwatch.org">www.seafoodwatch.org</a>) which helps people make ocean-friendly seafood choices. I met so many people who wanted know what a flat pug was doing at the aquarium &amp; were very interested to learn about recycle dogs. I had a great time.</p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/fp-cfd-watch.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-2676 alignright" title="seafood watch" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/fp-cfd-watch.jpg" alt="" width="250" height="188" /></a>&nbsp;<br />
Next weekend we plan to go to Niles where Charlie Chaplin and Bronco Billy made movies a million years ago before the earth had sound. </p>
<p>We also want to visit some shelters and rescue groups (which has turned out to be more complicated than we thought; we&#8217;ll keep you updated on the situation). </p>
<p><br style=”height:4em” /></p>
<p>For now, here are some pictures from my visit to Monterey Bay Aquarium:</p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/fp-kelp1.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-2675 alignleft" title="kelp" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/fp-kelp1.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/fp-coral.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-2675 alignleft" title="coral" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/fp-coral.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><br style=”height:4em” /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">* * * * </p>
<p>Flat Puglet isn&#8217;t finished exploring California with Phoebe and Zoey! You can follow his future travels by entering #53 in the Search box on the main page.</p>

The next day FP went to work with the husband. He works for a sand and gravel company. FP had to wear a hard hat all day to protect him from all the machinery. </p>
<p>He got to see the tint shop, ride the forklift and sit on husband&#8217;s desk. It was a very busy and exciting day. </p>
<p>On the way home, FP stopped off to see Janelle, Sequoia &amp; Tuni&#8217;s Aunt. Janelle is the GM for Beth&#8217;s Cafe, the one with the super 12 egg omelet as seen on the Travel Channel. </p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP31_bar.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-2638" title="Tavern" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP31_bar.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="214" /></a><br />
Dogs are not allowed in Beth&#8217;s so Janelle and FP went next door to the Duck Tavern and had a cold one to relax after a hard day of pushing his message.</p>
<p>That evening FP went bowling. He was a hit! Everyone came up and asked about him. FP got to talk about his mission to all the people on the bowling league.<br />
&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Flat Puglet was not allowed to bowl but he still had a great time.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP31_balls.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-2639 aligncenter" title="bowling" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP31_balls.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="321" /></a></p>
<p>The next day, FP went to my work where he continued to pass on his message. Once home again, FP and Lucy chilled on the deck. As you can see by the pictures, FP brought the sunshine to Brier, something that is usually in short supply this time of year. We have really enjoyed his time here but it is time to travel on for FP.</p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP31_desk.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-2640" title="work" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP31_desk.jpg" alt="" width="275" height="207" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">* * * * </p>
<p>Flat Puglet has left the Evergreen State and is heading to the east coast to spread his message. Destination: sunny Port Charlotte, FL.</p>

Flat Puglet arrived at our house in California the day before we left to go to a dog show in Arizona. So he came along for the ride. </p>
<p>Brother Boka hung out with Flat Puglet when I was busy doing my thing in the show ring. When it was Boka&#8217;s turn to do obedience, I stayed with FP.</p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_redbarn.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-2576" title="redbarn" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_redbarn.jpg" alt="" width="275" height="207" /></a>&nbsp;<br />
My favorite part about going to dog shows is the Red Barn Booth. The people there are supernice, they always give me supertastey treats. I told FP about them so he thought he would try out one of their bully sticks. </p>
<p>While Boka and I snacked on bullies, Flat Puglet told us about all of the places he has been. He also told us about recycled dogs that he has met and that he wants to help all recycled dogs find forever homes</p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_blood.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-2577" title="blood" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_blood.jpg" alt="" width="250" height="179" /></a>Flat Puglet came along for moral support when I donated my blood to the CHIC DNA program. They will use my blood for research to help fight diseases. </p>
<p>FP wanted to donate but the vet couldn&#8217;t find a vein &#8211; said he was to flat. Click for information related to <a href="http://www.thedca.org/CHICDNA.html">Dalmatian blood drive</a> and <a href="http://www.offa.org/chicdnabank.html">for all breeds and how to donate blood.</a> </p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_flatmore.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-2578 alignright" title="flatten more" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_flatmore.jpg" alt="" width="250" height="179" /></a><br />
&nbsp;<br />
After a long day of competition, Boka and I were having a grand time wrestling. We did not see FP sitting there on the floor and we kinda flatted him more. Oooppppsss!</p>
<p>The REAL Puglet might call me &#8216;Miley the destroyer&#8217; but Flat Puglet destroyed my toy!! I got sooooo mad, if FP wasn&#8217;t already flat I would have flattened him!</p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_toydestroy.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-2579" title="toy destroyer" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_toydestroy.jpg" alt="" width="225" height="161" /></a>&nbsp;<br />
Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you about one of the dogs Flat Puglet met. This little guy is his new friend, Cash. Cash was found on the side of the road after being hit by a car. A Purina rep found him, took him to the vet, got him all fixed up for lots of &#8220;cash&#8221;. Now he has a wonderful life with her. And he gets to eat all of the Purina treats he wants!!</p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_cash.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-2580" title="Cash" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_cash.jpg" alt="" width="225" height="161" /></a>&nbsp;<br />
On the way home we stopped to visit some cactus. FP thought it would be cool to climb up and have his photo taken in one, but Boka would not go anywhere near them and told us not to also. He said that they bite, and it really hurts! </p>
<p>This one is called a Saguaro. I&#8217;m not sure how old he is but according to google he could be around 200 years old! </p>
<p>When FP saw the storm clouds coming, he ran over to the cactus and took shelter in its arms. He was more afraid of getting wet than getting bitten by a cactus. Google said birds live in cactus. Does not sound very comfy to me, but FP thought the cactus would make a good home. </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_stromysaguuaro.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2582" title="saguaro" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_stromysaguuaro.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="321" /></a></p>
<p>On the long drive home mom was to tired to drive all of the way. So we stopped at a motel. FP had never been to a motel before. We had dinner and Flat Puglet pretended that he won all of these prizes. They are mine, I told him. But will give all of the money I won to the Flat Puglet project to help spread the word about recycled dogs!</p>
<p><a href="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_ribbons.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-2581" title="ribbons" src="http://flatpuglet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/FP_ribbons.jpg" alt="" width="250" height="179" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">* * * *</p>
<p>Next we are heading to Kansas and FP is coming along with us. Not sure where that is but Boka said something about Toto, witches, wizards and something called custard. He said custard is better than ice cream. </p>
